The Morikami Japanese Gardens are popular for engagement and wedding photography. I love the Morikami Japanese Gardens and have received many requests for engagement and wedding photography at the alway enchanting and spectacular Morikami Japanese Gardens. I have also provided maternity photography at the Morikami Japanese Gardens on several occasions.

The Morikami Japanese Gardens is a center for Japanese arts and culture located west of Delray Beach in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. The campus includes two museum buildings, the Roji-en Japanese Gardens: Garden of the Drops of Dew, a bonsai garden, a museum gift shop and the Cornell Cafe restaurant, which has been featured on the Food Network. Rotating exhibits are displayed in both buildings, and demonstrations, including tea ceremonies and classes, are held in the main building. Traditional Japanese festivals are celebrated several times a year.

The park and museum are named after George Morikami, a native of Miyazu, Japan, who donated his farm to Palm Beach County to be used as a park. George Morikami was the only member of the Yamato Colony, Florida to stay Delray Beach after World War II. The Museum was opened in 1977, in a building that is now named the Yamato-kan. The principal museum building opened in 1993. Construction of the Roji-en gardens began in 1993.

The Japanese Gardens provide a beautiful backdrop for beautiful and creative images, that always unique and definitely attract attention when shown off.

The best times to take photos at the gardens is either early morning or late afternoon during the fall and winter during sunset when the light is soft, dreamy and golden. The entry fees are $15.00 per adult and they don’t charge for engagement photography unless you want the location all to yourself for 2 hours before opening at a cost of $195.00 plus tax for up to 6 people..
